Living sharks of the genus Carcharhinus go by various names, including dusky sharks, bull sharks, or requiem sharks. It would be very difficult to determine the species of this specimen with certainty. However, it may be Carcharhinus egertoni (Agassiz), which is known to be present in the Maryland Miocene. This tooth is 1.4 cm high.
