Oxybeloceras was an ammonite which started out with a circular coil (not preserved in this specimen), then straightened out, and finally bent back on itself. This specimen shows the bend and the final straight portion. It was identified by Dr. William Cobban of the U.S.G.S. (Length 4 cm.)
