Rock unit: Didymoceras stevensoni zone of Pierre Shale

Mosasaurs were large, marine reptiles. This is a vertebra of one. Other vertebrae and some rib bones were found close by. Identified by Dr. Ken Carpenter of the Denver Museum of Natural History. (Scale in cm.)
